"Korea Days in Hanoi 2017" starts to open

To celebrate 25th anniversary of the Korea - Vietnam diplomatic relations, on April 8 at Ly Thai To Monument, the Korea Days in Hanoi 2017 opening ceremony took place.

The opening ceremony was jointly organized by Hanoi People's Committee and the Korean Embassy in Vietnam. The Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee- Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung attended and cut the opening band.

"Korea Days in Hanoi 2017" takes place from 15:00 to 22:00 on April 8-9 at the Ly Thai To Monument and Octagonal building surrounding area. This is the first official event held by the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam in 2017. Mr. Jung Chang Soo, General Director of the Korea Tourism Organization said: At the event, visitors can experience travel through the Virtual Reality Glasses, Korean high-class gift exhibition, Introduction section of Pyeong Chang Olympic 2018 and Gyeongju World Culture Expo in November 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City as well as Korean cuisine by tasting famous street food. In particular, the Korean Cultural Center also offers visitors to wear hanbok and take photos at the Photozone.

The most attractive activity is the performance of Korean band, EXID and Snuper as well as the electronic music show EDM performed by two well-known DJs, Trang Moon (Vietnam) and Schedule 1 (Korea).
In addition, there is also attendance of the famous Korean idol bands such as JUMP, FANTASTICK, Korean Traditional Musical Instrument Performance Band - Gook Bok, Traditional Vietnamese Art performance, etc.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Ngo Van Quy said: "Korea Days in Hanoi 2017" is a meaningful event to celebrate 25th anniversary of the Vietnam- Korea diplomatic relations in both countries in 2017. Through the special art show of Korean artists and in Korean tourism cultural promotion atmosphere, Hanoi residents will have opportunities to kmow and experience the unique culture of Korea as well as enhance the Korea- Vietnam relationship.

It is known that the Vietnamese tourists amount in 2016 increased by 54.5% compared to the previous year, Vietnam is increasingly proved to be a key market in Southeast Asia for Korean tourism. Therefore, in order to maintain and promote Vietnam market, the Korea Tourism Organization is expected to continuously launch promoting activities like Korean tourism, FIFA U-20 World Cup, tourism award activities, medical products, transit tours, high-end products and spring tour, etc.
In 2017: Two million Korean visitors is expected to Vietnam
It is announced by Mr. Jung Chang Soo, General Director of the Korea Tourism Organization in the meeting with the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung before "Korea Days in Hanoi" opening ceremony.
According to Mr. Jung Chang Soo, General Director of the Korea Tourism Organization, Korea and Vietnam have a very close relationship. Korean are increasingly showing more love to Vietnam and its residents. "The Vietnamese are not only hardworking but also intelligent and hospitable. The beautiful country, especially the ancient capital is a popular destination for Korean tourists". Mr. Jung Chang Soo said that in 2016, there were 1.5 million Korean tourists to Vietnam and this number in 2017 is expected to increase to 2 million. Mr. Jung Chang Soo believes that the Korea Days in Hanoi 2017 will be successful and he would like to send the gratitude to the Hanoi authority for the thoroughly support as well as the love and affection of the capital residents, which contribute to the success of Korea Days in Hanoi; thereby strengthen the friendship cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
