A delegation of Party and State leaders paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh and heroic martyrs in Hanoi on August 18 on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Police and the 10th year of the “All people protect the national security” movement (August 19).
Attending the delelegation of the leaders were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.
Former Party, State, Government and National Assembly officials were also present at the function.
At the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the leaders expressed their deepest gratitude for the late President’s great services to the nation’s revolutionary cause.
The leaders also laid a wreath at the nearby monument to heroic martyrs to commemorate those who devoted their lives for national liberation.
Also in the same day, a delegation of the Central Police Party Committee under the Ministry of Public Security led by Politburo member and Minister Tran Dai Quang paid homage to President Ho Chi Minh and war martyrs.
