The Government Office has issued Announcement No. 161/TB-VPCP on the conclusion of the PM on amending the Law on Vietnamese Nationality.
The Government assigned the MoJ to send a request to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee asking for adding a draft law on amendments and supplements to the Law on Vietnamese Nationality to the agenda of the 13th National Assembly’s seventh meeting.
The MoJ hosts and cooperates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to draw up and submit the draft law and present it at the Government regular meeting in April.
The Law on Vietnamese Nationality was passed on November 13, 2008, by the 12th National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam at its 4th session.
The Law takes effect on July 1, 2009 and replaces the May 20, 1998 Law on Vietnamese Nationality.
