The MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation (MobiFone) will step up overseas business activities in a bid to fulfil its target of earning 36.4 trillion VND (1.63 billion USD) in total revenue this year, with a profit of 7.3 trillion VND (328.2 million USD), MobiFone Chairman Le Nam Tra has said.

Recently, the corporation has signed a cooperation agreement with Synchonoss/PostNET – a leader in cloud computing and digital technology – in providing a number of international telecommunications services as part of efforts to realise its development strategy for 2015-2020.
Under the deal, the two sides will collaborate in piloting Invoice Validation and Routing/Rating Optimisation services and developing Mobile Content Transfer and Personal Cloud services.
In the next five years, the company will increase investments to expand its coverage, focusing on new technology and key markets, Tra said.
Currently, MobiFone makes up 26.11 percent of the mobile phone market share in Vietnam, an increase of 1.6 percent against last year.
The number of new subscribers hit 11 million, a year-on-year growth of 94.7 percent.
In the first nine months this year, the corporation estimated its total revenue of 27.2 trillion VND (1.2 billion USD) and profit of 5.67 trillion VND (252.7 million USD).
It was rechristened the MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation from the Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company last December after being separated from the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and is now placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Information and Communication.
