NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung elected as the National Electoral Council Chairman
During their plenary session of the 13th parliament’s ongoing 10th sitting on November 24, National Assembly (NA) deputies gave the nod to the general elections and the National Electoral Council (EC). NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung was elected as the EC Chairman.

NA deputies agreed that the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils of the 2016-2020 tenure will be organised on May 22, 2016, on Sunday.
They also approved the formation of the EC, which will comprise 21 members, including one Chairperson, four deputies, and 16 members.
Legislators also ratified a resolution issuing revised Regulations on NA Sessions.
At the session, deputies approved the amendments to the draft revised Civil Code.
In the afternoon, NA deputies were informed about the outcomes of discussions on nominees for the EC Chair and voted on the position.
NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung was elected as the EC Chairman. Later, he submitted a request asking lawmakers to approve the proposed candidates for the council’s Vice Chairpersons and members.
NA Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong presented the NA Standing Committee’s nominations to the NA General Secretary.
