In order promote Vietnamese goods to customers, Hanoi Industry & Trade Department has continuously organized large scale Vietnamese goods fair. Can you tell more about the results of previous fairs?

In the first Vietnamese goods fair in 2013, the event had 200 booths with more than 100 enterprises, but in the next events, the scale and number of enterprises participated in the events have significantly increased. For example, the 4th event in 2016 had gathered 200 enterprises, including leading industrial enterprises of Hanoi and 19 enterprises from other provinces. The event has attracted tens of thousands of customers coming for shopping.
However, the most important things in the event is increasing the customers’ awareness on the quality of products and goods, in turn improve the competitive strength of local enterprises, developing brands and helping customers in Vietnamese products’ identification.

How is this event organized for enterprises to promote and sell their products?

The Vietnamese goods fair 2017 in Hanoi will be held from September 21-25 with 300 booths. In order to increase the linkage between Hanoi industrial sector with other provinces, the Hanoi Industry & Trade Department has requested other provinces’ counterparts to participate in the event, with a view to distribute products and promote Vietnamese goods. As of present, some provinces and cities have confirmed of bringing their specialties to the event.

Also during the event, Hanoi Trade & Industry Department along with Hanoi Promotion Agency and retailing enterprises jointly organized the conference connecting supply and demand, and trade connection between enterprises and provinces across the country. This effort has created opportunities for enterprises in Hanoi and other provinces to introduce and bring their products to retailers across the country; consulting enterprises about labels and packages to meet the customers’ demand and policies of retailers when participating in distribution channels. At the same time, products of participating enterprises in the event will be recommended to join the voting program “Customers’ Favorite Vietnamese goods” in 2017.

Do the organizers have solutions to prevent low quality products from appearing at the event?

Hanoi Industry & Trade Department has requested enterprises taking part in the event to be specialized in producing and selling high quality products with clear origins and brands. Moreover, Hanoi Market Surveillance Agency will increase checking booths at the event. If they find any enterprise selling low quality or fake products, we will have strongly measures to deal with in accordance with the law.

In particular, Hanoi Market Surveillance Agency will have space to display real – fake goods, or goods violated the product’ brand protection, in turn helping customers to gain skills and knowledge in identifying product quality in the most common and easiest way. As such, customer will raise awareness and restrict the spreading of fake products in the market.

Thank you!

After the Vietnamese goods 2017 in Hanoi, from October 17 -20, Hanoi Industry and Trade will organize Hanoi Gift Show. This is an annual event organized every October in Hanoi. This event is expected to have more than 650 booths with the participation of 250 enterprises from local and abroad, attracting 12,000 visitors, 500 foreign companies, including big importers (import value more than 50 million USD per year).
