State President Truong Tan Sang met with Vietnamese embassy and representative mission staff in Jakarta, Indonesia on April 21.
He was accompanied by National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, and Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc who was in Indonesia for the 24 th World Economic Forum on East Asia.
He updated them on Vietnam’s latest developments and its bilateral relationship with Indonesia, saying that the two nations look to double their current 5 billion USD in trade.
The leader asked the staff to make more concerted efforts in realising the Party and State policies on external relations, and expressed his belief that representative diplomatic agencies and Vietnamese community would stay united for the sake of Vietnam-Indonesia ties and cooperation within the ASEAN.
The President is in Jakarta for the 2015 Asian-African Conference, also known as the Bandung Conference.
