State President welcomed Cambodia Deputy PM to Vietnam

On April 17, State President Tran Dai Quang welcomed Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sar Kheng for a pomp-filled visit designed to rejuvenate Vietnam-Cambodian ties.

The president affirmed that he would work for a closer and more extensive partnership between the two ministries in the hope to maintain peace, stability and prosperity of each country and the region. President Quang stressed that it was particularly fitting that the visit should come on the festive occasion of the celebration of the Hung Kings Death Anniversary while Cambodia fetes the traditional New Year Chol Chnam Thmay.

For his part, President Quang expressed his delight at the outcomes of the two ministries’ collaboration as well as the support of Deputy PM Sar Kheng and other Cambodian leaders for the joint works. Deputy PM Kheng conveyed congratulations from the Cambodian King and Royal Government to State President Quang with regard to his recent election by the National Assembly.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM Sar Kheng conveyed greetings from the Cambodian King and Government to Quang on his election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the 13th National Assembly. Sar Kheng said he hopes that President Quang will continue facilitating the collaboration between Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior and Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security, contributing to the two countries’ long-standing friendship and cooperation.

The two leaders discussed prospects for the Vietnam’s Ministry of Public Security and Cambodia’s Ministry of the Interior with respect to anti-terrorism and other public security matters for mutual benefit.
