The carnival is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with the Center for Preservation and Development of Vietnamese Stage Arts on the occasion of the 129th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2019).
Hanoi turned out in style to enjoy a colorful return for the street carnival. More than 80 dancers and musicians filled the streets as the carnival made its way up around Hoan Kiem Lake, passing Ly Thai To Square, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem, Hang Khay, and Hai Ba Trung streets.

In particular, the parade groups comprised of thousands of artisans, folk performing artists, elderly people and students who staged interesting performances of traditional dances and costumes. In addition, the Ao dai (Vietnamese traditional long dress) show was a perennial highlight of the event with new collections by popular designers of Hanoi.
