Sweden’s Stockholm Exergi hopes to partner with Hanoi in efficient energy recycling

Vietnam could benefits greatly from Sweden`s highly applicable technologies, especially in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution along with the digital transformation.

Sweden’s major energy firm Stockholm Exergi expressed interest in transferring its most modern technologies on energy recycling to Hanoi, contributing to a healthy environment of the capital, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported.

The company made the statement during Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to its headquarters and later on Ericsson’s on May 28

Stockholm Exergi specializes in producing resource-efficient energy and electricity, its operation has partly contributed to Stockholm being counted as one of the world’s most sustainable capitals and free from fossil fuel. 

In 2018, the firm provided 8,176 GWh to meet heating demand of 800,000 citizens of Stockholm, around 90% of its heating system is run on recycled fueled resources.

Vietnam to benefit from Sweden's highly applicable technologies

At Ericsson's headquarters, Phuc was given a tour on the group’s most advanced technologies, including the 5G network, artificial intelligence (AI), internet of things (IoT), and Edge Computing.

The PM stressed the importance of these technologies for Vietnam in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution along with the digital transformation, focusing on smart production.

Phuc, along with CEO of Ericsson Borje Borje Ekholm and President of Ericsson Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia Denis Brunetti, witnessed the signing of cooperation agreement between Ericsson and Vietnam’s telecom group Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on innovation in Industry 4.0 and IoT. 

The move would boost two companies cooperation in realizing the potential of IoT in VNPT’s mobile network and providing greater digital services to customers, enterprises and government agencies. 

Phuc highly regarded achievements in science and technologies developed by Stockholm Exergi and Ericsson, saying Vietnam could benefits greatly from Swedish highly applicable technologies. 

The Vietnam’s PM said the government is committed to creating favorable conditions for Swedish companies doing business in Vietnam, making significant contribution to long-standing Vietnam – Sweden relations.
