The Capital to strictly handle MLM violations

According to the Official Letter No.3799/UBND-KT dated August 4, the Hanoi People’s Committee asked relevant departments, sectors to strictly handle violations of Multi - Level Marketing (MLM) activities.

Under the Official Letter, implementing the direction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh in the Document No. 7703/VPCP-KTTH dated July 24, 2017 of the Government’s Office on handling violations related to MLM business. Particularly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade takes prime responsibility and cooperates with relevant agencies to check, supervise MLM businesses so as to ensure legal rights and benefits of participants as stipulated by law. In addition, the Ministry of Police directs forces, units to further understand the situation and coordinate with authorized agencies and local authorities to proactively give preventive measures for security and order assurance across the country; check, detect and handle violations in MLM business as soon as possible as stipulated by law.
 



Meanwhile, People’s Committees of provinces, centrally-run cities are in charge of directing relevant functional units to enhance inspection, supervision and handling of violation cases as stipulated by law; setting up solutions to ensure security, order in localities; protecting legal rights and benefits of MLM participants as stipulated by law.

Regarding the above matter, the Municipal People’s Committee asked Departments of Industry and Trade, Health, Foreign Affairs, Information and Communications, Police, Tax and People’s Committees of districts, towns to strengthen inspection, supervision and handling of MLM violations; build plans on understanding the situation to ensure security and order in localities; give instruction and protect legal rights and benefits of participants as stipulated by law; continue tightening the cooperation in carrying out the Plan No.149/KH-UBND dated August 4, 2016 of the Municipal People’s Committee on strengthening the management of  MLM business in the capital city; give periodic and unscheduled reports.
