Vietnam: One more young Covid-19 patient dies, death toll reaches 28
Patient No.758 in Vietnam died of pneumonia caused by Covid-19 at Hoa Vang Medical Center on Tuesday evening.
The Covid-19 death toll in Vietnam has reached 28 after a young fatality was confirmed on August 26, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Patient No.758, a 36-year-old man, from the central province of Quang Nam died of pneumonia caused by Covid-19 at Hoa Vang Medical Center on Tuesday evening.

He also had underlying diseases such as heart failure, high blood pressure, septic shock, multiple-organ failure by chronic renal failure, dialysis peritoneal, the MoH said, adding that deceased person is one of the two Covid-19 deaths under 40 years old recorded in Vietnam so far.
Earlier, the MoH reported a younger woman diagnosed with Covid-19, aged 33, died on August 10.
She was Patient No.430, who had suffered several serious pre-existing illnesses, including late-stage kidney failure, heart failure, sepsis, and hypertension. So far, Patient No.430 and Patient No.758 are the youngest victims in Vietnam.
All of Covid-19-related deaths in the country suffered severe underlying health problems such as end-stage chronic kidney failure, chemically unresponsive end-stage blood cancer, type 2 diabetes, sepsis, pneumonia, and multi-organ failure.
Patient No.453 died after testing negative for Covid-19 three times
The MoH announced on Tuesday evening that Covid-19 Patient No.453 in Son Tra district of Danang city had died after having tested negative for the virus three times.
The patient had a history of hypertension, kidney failures, high blood pressure and stroke. She tested negative for Covid-19 on August 19, 21 and 23.
Last night, the woman died of complications from chronic renal failure at Hoa Vang Medical Center. Her death was medically attributed to septic shock, multiple organ failure.
This is not counted as a Covid-19-caused death because the victim was negative for the pathogen at the time of her death, the health ministry said.
According to the MoH, currently, around 30 Covid-19 cases in Vietnam are in critical condition, including 14 on the edge of death.
The country has documented 1,029 coronavirus infections since January 23 when it registered the first-ever Covid-19 patient, 592 of them have recovered, the MoH said.
