Vietnam promotes tourism at world-class fair in Germany

The Vietnam booth at the 2019 International Tourism Exchange in Berlin (ITB) drew attention from thousands of visitors.

During the fair, the provincial tourism delegations will participate in the ITB Speed Networking and Blogger Speed Networking programs, as well as fairs on the promotion of destinations, tourism trends and the development of meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism.
The ITB, one of the largest and most prestigious tourism fairs in the world, has been held annually in March since 1966. So far, the event has developed both in quantity and quality with a total area of up to 160,000 square meters and over 120,000 visitors each year.

The 2019 ITB is expected to attract the participation of some 10,000 tour operators and travel companies from nearly 190 countries and territories, and welcome over 160,000 visitors. It is a good opportunity for Da Nang, Thua Thien – Hue and Quang Nam provinces, which are located in central Vietnam with famous beaches and relics, to promote their tourism potential to international friends, particularly in the European market.
On March 8, the VNAT will host the program title “Vietnam night” with many activities, including information introduction on Vietnam's tourism, business-matching meetings between travel companies and managers of destinations and hotels in Vietnam; performances of Vietnamese cuisine and arts.
After welcoming nearly 16 million foreign tourists in 2018, Vietnam aims to receive about 18 million foreign visitors and 85 million domestic ones in 2019, and earn more than VND700 trillion (US$30.2 billion) from tourism, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
