Vietnam's Journalism Museum inaugurated

Vietnam Journalism Museum goes into operation on Aug, 16.

 
The Vietnam Journalists Association inaugurated the Journalism Museum in Hanoi, on Wednesday.
The museum inauguration took place after 3 years of establishing. Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Deputy President of Vietnam Journalism Association Ho Quang Loi affirmed: “The 152-year-old Vietnam journalism should be preserved orderly, scientifically with meticulous research and effective exploitation  
On this occasion, numerous organizations as well as individuals donated treasure materials, items relating to journalism for the museum. Specifically, some 152 copies of old Vietnamese newspapers and magazines were displayed, besides many old printers and statues of reporters who were patriotic martyrs.
The museum, located at the association's headquarters, is tasked to collect, display and introduce cultural heritages which reflect the development of Vietnam's journalism establishment and development. The museum under the Vietnamese Journalism Association covering 1,500 square meters will be located in Cau Giay district of Hanoi capital.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese PM commissioned to the management board of Vietnam Press Museum about collection, preservation, display and introduction of cultural heritages reflecting establishment and development of Vietnam journalism. The museum is scheduled to be put into the operation in 2018. Last year, speaking at the conference entitled “Journalism after 30 years of renewal process - theoretical and practical issues.”, President of Vietnam Journalists Association (VJA) Thuan Huu said that 30 years is a meaningful period during which the reform process initiated and led by the Party has gained historic accomplishments acknowledged by the domestic and international public.
