Vietnam’s parliament to conduct interpellations next month, addressing four big issues

The four most debated issues namely social security, culture and tourism, construction, and transport would be named at the hearings on June 4-6.
A number of Vietnamese ministers will take on the parliament hearing sessions which are scheduled to take place on June 4-6.
The government officials will appear before the National Assembly (NA) for answering the questions raised by members of the NA – the country’s highest legislative body – at its ongoing 7th plenary sitting.
The ministers will clarify four groups of issues which are classified as social security and safety, construction sector, transport, and culture-sports-tourism, Head of the NA’s Office Nguyen Hanh Phuc told media on May 27.
Social security and safety
Minister of Public Security To Lam will answer questions on the prevention and control of crimes, especially those relating to drug storage and smuggling, crimes on usury, underground criminal rings, transnational surrogacy organizations, women and children abuse, violations on traffic regulations including drunk driving and drugged driving.
Participating in the interpellations will be Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Ministers of Justice, Defense, Health, Education and Training, Labor-Invalids-Social Affairs, Transport, together with Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, Head of the People’s Supreme Court, and Prosecutor of the People’s Supreme Procuracy.
Construction sector
Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha will explain why challenges remain in the management of the real estate market, including high-rise residential blocks, condotels, resorts, villas, officetels; the planning and management of urban construction; and the removal of state agencies’ offices out of urban areas.
Other officials joining the hearing with Ha include Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung, Ministers of Natural Resources and Environment, Finance, Planning and Investment, Culture-Sport-Tourism, Justice; Government Inspector General, Auditor General of the State Audit of Vietnam, Chairmen of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Danang.
Transport
Minister of Transport Nguyen Van The will clear up pressing issues on infrastructure, mostly sluggish construction, cost overruns, low quality of finished works; the management of transportation, vehicles, and taxis; training, examining, and certifying driving license; and the management of electronic toll collection.
Officials subject to get to hearing include Nguyen Van The, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Public Security, and Health.
Culture, sports, tourism
The questions will focus on the management, conservation and development of cultural heritages; the management of revenues fetched from tourism; the management of religious practices including prevention of superstition; the investment, building, and management of spiritual works; and the management of earnings from faith tourism.
Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien will assume responsibilities for the hearing in support of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Ministers of Finance, Construction, Natural Resources and Environment, Home Affairs, and Public Security.
