Telemor, Viettel`s subsidiary in Timor-Leste, won the "Fastest Growing Company of the Year in Asia, Australia and New Zealand" category of the International Business Awards 2015 (IBA) – the Stevie Awards.
The company grabbed the top spot with a growth rate of 280 percent year-on-year.
Established in 2013, Telemor has built an infrastructure network across Timor-Leste, ending the monopoly in the country's telecom sector.
With more than 450,000 customers, Telemor has become the largest network provider in the country, accounting for 45 percent of the market share. In addition, the rate of average revenue per user in Timor-Leste doubled due to the company's diversified services package, especially for 3G service.

Viettel announced that it would maintain the momentum of sustainable growth as part of its global business strategy, following the double honours in business performance and corporate social responsibility it received at the IBA 2015. The telecommunications company's subsidiaries in Timor-Leste and Haiti won the Gold prize in the "Fastest Growing Company of the Year" category and the Silver prize in the "Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year" category, respectively.
"A growing social commitment in line with business development continues to be central to Viettel's long-term business strategy. We aim to transform the telecommunications landscape and contribute to sustainable development across markets," said Tao Duc Thang, General Director of Viettel Global, who recently expressed a vision for Viettel to become one of the top 10 largest telecommunications companies in the world by 2020.
Viettel has been operating in nine markets across Asia, Africa and the Americas, where it has helped build infrastructure and provided telecommunications services to a total customer reach of more than 175 million, of which 13 million are existing customers. In some of the markets, such as Cambodia (through Metfone) and Mozambique (through Movitel), the company is a market leader in terms of subscribers, revenue and infrastructure.
