Wandering around Hoan Kiem District via young singer's music video

Dinh Xuan Dat is also The Voice of Hanoi 2024's first contestant to reach a new career milestone.

Dinh Xuan Dat's debut music video "Hoan Kiem", composed by musician Giang Son and written by poet Nguyen VinhTien, has been officially released. This is also an important song that helped him reach the second position of The Voice of Hanoi 2024.

With the release of this product, he aimed to express his gratitude to Hanoi, the city that gave him his first success and played a key role in his personal and professional growth.

"I tried my best in The Voice of Hanoi 2024 to seek the first successes in my career. The second prize will be a platform for me to continue my journey and conquer new steps. I thank the contest organizers for recognizing my efforts," Dat said.

Dat also showed his courage by entering the competition with this song video. Although it is difficult to sing, "Hoan Kiem" is considered a beautiful song; every line, from the melody to the lyrics, captures the beauty of the capital. Dat was under pressure to come up with something fresh and unique because other seniors, such as Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, had already done so successfully.

But he is still determined to make the music video and introduce Hoan Kiem District in his own way, with his own perspective. It shows that he is proud of Hoan Kiem District, the heart of Hanoi, with the gentle, simple but passionate spirit of young people.

The music video was made by young director Hung Nguyen and shows Hanoi in a more youthful, intimate and dreamy spirit.

In the music video, Dinh Xuan Dat plays a young man from far away who wanders the streets of Hanoi, capturing with his eyes and lens the scenic places in Hanoi that every tourist who comes to Hanoi wants to visit.

That is the peaceful, poetic Hoan Kiem Lake; the old streets, which, no matter how noisy and bustling life becomes, never lose their serene silence; the Train Street cafe, which everyone who visits Hanoi is curious to experience at least once; and the iconic O Quan Chuong gate, weathered by time and history.

Dinh Xuan Dat looks at the bustling, peaceful life of Hanoi people to feel more deeply the beauty of Hanoi from every angle. He said that these images are also familiar images that he loves in Hanoi.

Dat was born in the heart of quan ho (love duets) in the northern province of Bac Ninh. His grandfather was a martyr, and his grandmother was a Heroic Mother of Vietnam. His father worked as a carpenter and was a recognized artisan. Although no one in his family pursued a singing career, Dat grew up in an environment where singing was cherished. Naturally, he developed a love for singing and became especially skilled in performing quan ho folk songs.

As a child, Dinh Xuan Dat often performed at school and was invited to sing at provincial gatherings. When the organizer of the event found out that Dat had the skills and ability to sing, he suggested that he take a singing test and pursue professional studies.

Dat's parents were very open-minded and supportive. After graduating from high school, Dat went to Hanoi to take the Intermediate Vocal Music exam at the Military University of Culture and Arts, and passed with flying colors. From there, Dat began his journey to conquer the professional art path.

Looking back on his artistic path, Dinh Xuan Dat considers himself very fortunate. He has been mentored by many famous artists, especially People's Artist Quang Tho - the most famous singer of Vietnam's revolutionary music genre.

The one who motivates him the most is People's Artist Quang Tho, who is 76 years old.

"Every time I see him in class, even at this age, he is still enthusiastic and full of fire for his profession, I really admire him. His love for music and his profession has inspired me and other students to strive to study better so that we can contribute more and for a longer time," Dat said.

Speaking about Dat, People's Artist Ha Thuy said: "Dinh Xuan Dat inspires young people that their efforts, their dreams, by any means and any way, will make this life more beautiful and make them appreciate this life more. Dinh Xuan Dat's voice is simple and emotional. I think only people who love Hanoi so much can sing a song that touches the hearts of the listeners."
