World’s largest seafood market makes inroads into Vietnam

Members of the Tsukiji fish market – the world’s largest wholesale market from Tokyo, Japan – introduced high-grade seafood products and food preservation technologies to Vietnamese firms in HCM City on January 15.

Ms. Miyako Hamano, Vice President of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) said everyday Tsukiji supplies about 1,800 tonnes of 480 fishes and other seafood from around the world.

She revealed that more Japanese businesses have opened their restaurants in Vietnam, 300 of which are in HCM City.

 

Members of Tsukiji market introduced Vietnamese partners to Japanese dishes made from high quality fish and seafood with the aim of making inroads into the market

They also wanted to cooperate with Vietnamese businesses through the supply and transfer of food preservation technologies to make Vietnamese fish and other seafood products saleable at a high price at Tsukiji market.
