Cooperatives seek business opportunities at Hanoi-hosted Coop-Expo 2022

A trade fair is one of the practical activities to help local cooperatives find business opportunities.

More than 100 Vietnamese cooperatives attended the 2022 Cooperative Trade and Investment Promotion Fair (Coop-Expo 2022) in Hanoi to seek business opportunities with large supermarket chains such as AEON, Central Group, Winmart, and Lotte.

The fair attracted the participation of cooperative alliances from 50 provinces and cities, introducing various farm produce, food, traditional medicines, handicrafts as well as typical products and services.

At the event, Nguyen Ngoc Bao, President of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) said that it is aimed to help cooperatives access business opportunities with exporters, domestic and foreign distributors.

He added the fair is expected to lure resources and the strengths of collectives, contributing to speeding up the country’s socio-economic recovery and development program in the 2022-2023 period.

Along with introducing their products and services to customers, participants also had a chance to explore the demands and purchasing power in the Hanoi market.

Within the framework of the event, a conference will be held to discuss the application of e-commerce and the promotion of trade and investment in cooperatives in 2022. It aims to encourage cooperatives, businesses, and investors to partner and form production chains, enhance productivity and product quality and send domestic farm produce to more markets.

The trade fair is part of the National Program on Trade Promotion in 2022, which runs until June 13.
