Snapshots of Hanoi's empty streets after closure of non-essential services

Hanoi streets are experience freakish quietness as the city is enforcing the order to close all unnecessary services.

The usual bustling atmosphere of the downtown area of the city vanished on March 26 as many service establishments have been closed at the order of the local government.

 Numerous non-essential service establishments such as bars, coffee shops and fitness centers in Hoan Kiem District are requested to suspend their operations until April 5.
 Tong Duy Tan – a well-known food street in Hoan Kiem district, is now deserted.
 An empty four-floor milk tea shop on Hang Dieu street, Hoan Kiem district is ordered to temporarily close.
 The owner of a coffee shop in Dinh Liet street, Hoan Kiem district, said the shop will only take take-away orders.
 Most business households strictly comply with the closure order to together combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic after the city People’s Committee announced to close all unnecessary services on March 26 morning.
The authorities of Hang Dao ward, Hoan Kiem district, are asking each business household to sign a commitment for the temporary business closure.
