HABECO – The spirit of Vietnam rising

Hanoi Beer–Alcohol–Beverage Corporation (HABECO) has long been a cornerstone of Vietnam’s beverage industry.

Year after year, HABECO meets ambitious production goals while contributing trillions of VND to the State budget. With relentless dedication to business growth and societal contributions, HABECO has proudly earned the prestigious National Brand recognition for six consecutive terms.

Preserving tradition while driving innovation

HABECO’s origins date back to 1890 with the French-founded Hommel Brewery. In 1958, it became a symbol of Vietnamese pride, launching the country’s first beer brewed and managed entirely by Vietnamese hands. Overcoming the hardships of war, subsidy economies, and competitive markets, HABECO has grown from a modest operation into a cherished national icon.

Today, with nearly 135 years of heritage and 66 years of revival and growth, HABECO represents the enduring spirit of Vietnam. Its beers have become a staple in consumers' daily lives and a symbol of Hanoi’s cultural essence, cherished both domestically and abroad.

Iconic beverages that define a culture

HABECO’s products are deeply woven into the cultural fabric of Hanoi. From classic names like Hong Ha and Huu Nghi to iconic staples such as Bia Hoi Ha Noi ( Hanoi draft beer), HABECO has consistently delivered quality that resonates with generations of beer enthusiasts. In recent years, the brand has evolved to meet modern tastes, introducing bold innovations like Hanoi Bold & Light (2019) and Hanoi 1890 (2020), celebrating both tradition and creativity.

Continuous research and development and enhanced packaging and quality improvements ensure HABECO remains at the forefront of the beverage industry, ready to embrace the future.

A symbol of national pride
Hanoi Beer is more than just a beverage, it’s a cultural symbol, representing the values of tradition, community, and connection. It has become essential to Vietnamese culture, uniting people and fostering a shared sense of national pride. With its signature richness and authenticity, Hanoi Beer is a staple in the hearts and glasses of millions.

Truc Bach Beer, launched in 1958, stands out as Vietnam’s first premium beer. Named after Hanoi’s historic Truc Bach Lake, it exudes sophistication and heritage, delivering a taste of history with every sip.

Breaking boundaries with global ambitions

In 2023, Hanoi Beer proudly entered the U.S. market, marking its presence in one of the world’s most demanding beer markets. Its flagship product, Bia Hoi Ha Noi (Hanoi draft beer), continues to shine as a cultural ambassador, earning recognition as part of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s culinary experience during his visit to Vietnam.

Hanoi Draft Beer was honored to be chosen as a culinary highlight by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during his visit to Vietnam in early June 2023.

As it navigates the challenges of globalization, HABECO remains committed to its roots while embracing innovation. With a focus on diversifying its offerings, strengthening distribution, and appealing to younger, urban audiences, HABECO is positioning itself as a modern, dynamic player in the global market.

Driven by a mission to elevate Vietnam’s beer industry, HABECO remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility, ensuring that its legacy endures for generations to come.
