The project, signed off by Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan, aims to make public transport more attractive and establish a multimodal transport network to enhance mobility across the city.
Running from 2025 to 2026, the project has a total budget of over VND 33 billion (approximately 1.2 million euros). It focuses on optimizing passenger travel routes, upgrading public transport stations to improve accessibility, particularly for pedestrians and restructuring the existing bus network to provide better connections. By integrating different modes of transport, the project is expected to encourage greater public transit use and reduce dependence on private vehicles.
The Hanoi Department of Transport is responsible for overseeing implementation, ensuring compliance with national and local regulations. The city has mentioned that the project must be executed transparently and efficiently, with strict adherence to legal frameworks governing the management of non-refundable aid. Authorities have also mandated close coordination with relevant agencies to address security concerns and ensure public safety during project activities, such as infrastructure assessments and data collection.
Hanoi continues to seek international partnerships to enhance its urban transport infrastructure, aiming for a more efficient and sustainable system. The Moov’Hanoi project is part of broader efforts to modernize public transportation and create a more commuter-friendly environment for residents and visitors alike.
