The move aims to minimize the number of people going to the market at one time, avoid crowd, and prevent the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nhat Tan market, a famous flower market in Nhat Tan Ward, Tay Ho District of Hanoi, is distributing shopping stamps on an odd-even day scheme for local residents to go to the local wet market with a view to curbing the novel coronavirus spread.

Chairman of the Nhat Tan Ward People's Committee Dang Huu Tien said that the odd-even day scheme is effective from July 27.

In the early morning of July 27, people used the stamps to go to Nhat Tan market.

At about 5:30 am on July 27, many people in Nhat Tan Ward went to the market to buy food and necessities.

"We went to each household to distribute the stamps on July 26," said the leader of Nhat Tan Ward.

Each resident is entitled to one stamp per day to avoid gatherings in the market.

Those who go to the market are checked for body temperature.

Many people buy enough food for two days.

A fence was erected to ensure the distance between people who have to don face masks, wash hands with antiseptic and keep a two-meter distance from each other.
