First “touchless hotel” chain in Hanoi debuts

SOJO’s newly launched hotel brand is expected to be an exciting destination for Gen Z who are fond of information technology.

With a few touches right in their smartphones, visitors to the newly opened hotel in Hanoi can make distance bookings, open the door, draw the curtain, adjust the room temperature or control the in-room light and sound systems depending on their emotions.

Visitors would have experience of "touchless hotel" in SOJO Hotel Ga Hanoi from December 7, according to TNG Holdings Vietnam, the hotel chain developer.

The Hanoi-based facility is the fourth of its kind put into operations across Vietnam.

SOJO Hotel chain, which was the winner of the World Travel Awards (WTA)'s 2021 Asia’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel Brand, is said to revolutionize the customer experience when fully inheriting the “touchless” concept of the hotel brand.

According to SOJO Hotels’ Chief Executive Nguyen Ba Luan, SOJO hotels are not only an accommodation filled with fresh recreational experience but also places showcasing the hotel’s philosophy in development: limiting physical contact, applying technology to create a new experience, removing add-on services, and investing in core services based on the customer-centric strategy.

“In the volatile situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the hotel industry needs drastic changes and revolutionary solutions. Then, the ‘refreshingly smart’ and ‘touchless’ hotel model is the answer” he told The Hanoi Times.

Situated in an area opposite the hundred-year-old train station or “Hang Co Station” in a familiar name, SOJO Hotel Ga Hanoi is the highlight of the area. Inspired by train carriages, the hotel enables guests to “go back in time” to explore the familiar beauty of the Hanoi Railway Station through images of locomotives, carriages, stations, chimneys, and railways, evoking an air of a distant past.

The hotel management board hopes that the facility would soon become an exciting destination for young people, those with a new mindset but still remembering their roots, willing to “get on board” to enrich lives with factual experience.

Officially launched at the end of 2020, the advanced-technology hotel chain is perceived as a pioneering hotel model shaping the Vietnamese hospitality industry. The technology platform designed specifically for SOJO - T.SHS (TNTech Smart Hotel Solutions) has received the biggest award of Vietnam software industry - Sao Khue 2021 in the category “New software solutions”.

With an initial reputation, TNG Holdings Vietnam plans to develop 100 similar smart hotels across the country in five years, starting from 2020.
