Hanoi upholds role as Vietnamese capital: Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee

the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025, Politburo member, Hanoi Party Secretary, and Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai sent a New Year letter to the people, comrades, officials, soldiers, and children of Hanoi across the country and abroad.

As Vietnam welcomes the Lunar New Year 2025 and marks the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party’s founding (February 3, 1930 – 2025), I, on behalf of Hanoi’s leadership, extend warm New Year greetings to citizens, comrades, and Vietnamese expatriates worldwide.

In 2024, despite numerous challenges, Hanoi achieved significant milestones, including the passage of the revised Capital Law, the approval of strategic urban development plans, and the meaningful celebration of key events like the 70th anniversary of Liberation Day. The city also gained record budget revenues of VND511.93 trillion (US$20.41 billion), led advancements in digital transformation, promoted cultural and tourism industries, enhanced social welfare, and strengthened national defense, laying a robust foundation for continued progress.

Looking ahead to 2025, Hanoi will honor historic occasions, including the 50th anniversary of National Reunification and the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution. With the guiding theme “Discipline, Responsibility, Action, Creativity, Development,” the city is dedicated to leveraging its cultural legacy, unity, and potential to achieve transformative growth and uphold its role as Vietnam’s capital.

Hanoi approaches the future with pride and determination, striving to build a Civilized, Modern, and Prosperous city that brings happiness to its people.

May every family enjoy a New Year filled with health, joy, and success!
