Piano performance to promote Vietnamese-German cultural exchange

Sweet Christmas melodies performed by renowned pianist Caroline Fischer delighted Hanoi audiences at the performance on December 11.

The art performance is part of activities to celebrate the 48th anniversary of Vietnam-Germany diplomatic relations and the 12th anniversary of the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership in 2023.

International award-winning pianist Caroline Fischer is on a concert tour in Tunisia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia at the invitation of the German embassies.

During her tour in Hanoi, the artist taught three master classes at the Inspiritu School of Music in Hanoi on December 10 and gave a concert at the Vietnam National Academy of Music in Hanoi on December 11.

At the concert, Fischer delighted the audience with works from her newly released music album entitled Magical Christmas Fantasies, including works by Bach, Mozart, Lange, Svoboda, von Walden, Helbig, and Thiessen. For classical music lovers, as well as anyone who enjoys Christmas music, this magnificent fusion of rare and unheard piano transcriptions was an amazing experience.

Fischer's CD includes familiar favorites, wonderful rarities, and previously unreleased piano arrangements, some of which have never been recorded on CD. It is an outstanding selection for classical music devotees as well as those who simply love to listen to Christmas carols.

Over the past 48 years, Vietnam-Germany relations have flourished with close cooperation in politics, diplomacy, economy, and culture. There have been exchanges of delegations and diplomatic activities through people-to-people contacts.

The two countries upgraded the relations to a strategic partnership in October 2011 during the visit of German Chancellor Angela Merkel to Vietnam.
