Pure and elegant, the lotus is like a gift from nature to the summer.

Pristine and charming white lotus flowers are in full bloom in a 7.2-hectare field at the Center for Experimental and Vocational Training of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture in Hanoi's Gia Lam District.

The field, about 20 kilometers from downtown Hanoi, has been a magnet for visitors for a glimpse of the scenic site.

Lotus, considered the national flower of Vietnam, is grown in many parts of the country. However, it has a unique charm when planted in Hanoi.

La Tien Hiep, Technical Manager of the lotus center said that the most typical one of the center is white lotus species"The white lotus is native to India. Each lotus stalk can grow up to 2 meters high, while its roots spread deep under the thick mud," Hiep told The Hanoi Times.
