The closure was carried out for sterilizing the sites, which would reopen when the disinfection work completed.

The Management Board of the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long said that the historical site has resumed its reception from 8.am this morning after being sterilized and that they have prepared masks for visitors to prevent the possible contraction of coronavirus.
The Temple of Literature, which had halted its operation a day earlier at the request of the Hanoi Department of Culture& Sport, was also reopened. “The number of arrivals to the site was not large, however, it showed more positive signals against the early days of the Lunar New Year,” Director of the Management Board of the Temple of Literature Le Xuan Kieu said.
For his part, Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism To Van Dong stressed that the closure was carried out for sterilizing the sites and the facilities would reopen when the disinfection work completed.
One day before, several historical relics and popular tourist destinations in Hanoi announced temporary closure to avoid the spread of the acute respiratory disease caused by the coronavirus, including Hoa Lo Prison, Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, among others.
