Vietnam culture, tourism festival to take place in South Korea

Various activities will be held, including a forum on tourism promotion and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea.

The 2024 Vietnam Culture and Tourism Festival in South Korea will run from June 29 to July 3, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The festival will feature a broad program of activities, including a forum on promoting tourism and cultural cooperation between the two countries, a business meeting with the attendance of Vietnam's top leaders, a space to promote the image of Vietnam's country, people, tourism and culture, and art performances.

It's an opportunity for VNAT as well as localities and businesses to showcase attractive policies, destinations and products, and for tour operators to establish business cooperation and attract more South Korean tourists.
According to data from South Korea's Yeogi Eottae booking platform, Vietnam is seeing an increasing number of hotel bookings from Korean travelers for this year's peak summer tourist season.

Specifically, the number of bookings by South Korean visitors to hotels in Vietnam in the June-August period increased by three times compared to the same period in 2023, leading the region in hotel bookings.

As of the end of April, the two Southeast Asian countries led the region in hotel bookings, according to statistics released by the Yeogi Eottae website on May 2.

In December 2022, the Vietnam National Tourism Authority and the South Korean National Tourism Agency signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in promoting Vietnam-Korea tourism in 2023-2024, laying the foundation for the two sides to promote tourism cooperation and send guests to each other.

Last year, Vietnam welcomed 12.6 million foreign tourists, including 3.6 million Koreans, making South Korea the top source of international visitors to Vietnam. The most popular destinations for Korean tourists are Hue, Danang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Da Lat, and Phu Quoc.
In the meantime, about 420,000 Vietnamese people have chosen South Korea as their holiday destination.
