Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said that the VITA Awards have long been a driving force for innovation, creativity, and service quality improvement in the sector. By honoring outstanding businesses and individuals, the awards also raise public awareness of tourism’s vital role in national socio-economic development.
Also at the event, the Vietnam Tourism Association launched its 2025 emulation program, themed "Vietnamese Tourism Steps into a New Era: Green and Digital Transformation." The initiative will establish clear "Green Criteria" for travel agencies, accommodations, restaurants, and destinations, promoting sustainable practices nationwide.
Additionally, the association will guide member businesses in adopting digital transformation and cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance tourism products and services—further boosting the industry’s economic impact.
Official figures show that Vietnam’s tourism sector achieved remarkable growth last year, welcoming 17.5 million international visitors — a 38.9% increase compared to 2023, reflecting the industry’s strong recovery and development.
