Winners of Vietnam Smart City Awards 2020 announced

The Smart City Awards 2020 will be displayed online on the website www.smartcitysummit.vn from now until the end of December.

The Vietnam IT Software and Services Association (VINASA) held a ceremony on November 24 to confer Smart City Awards 2020 to 54 businesses and organizations, Kinh te & Do thi reported.

The five best awards were presented to FPT Joint Stock Company, Military-run telco Viettel Group, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) and Vinhomes Joint Stock Company. Especially, Danang was the only city to receive the prestigious award for cities.

The award, held for the first time by VINASA, aims to recognize, honor and encourage businesses and organizations that have made contributions to making cities smarter, more livable, competitive and develop sustainably, and help accelerate the digital transformation process.

The award also recognizes organizations and developers that contribute to the development of smart cities in Vietnam.

The awards are given to four categories including urban areas development, smart real estate and smart buildings, smart industrial park (IP) projects, and technology solutions for smart cities.

Vietnam Smart City Award 2020 was launched on September 7, attracting 131 nominations from 73 participating organizations and businesses. 

The Smart City Awards 2020 will be displayed online on the website www.smartcitysummit.vn from now until the end of December.

Smart cities are the inevitable development trend of all cities in the world in order to optimize resources, develop sustainably, protect the environment, security, safety and convenience for people and social economic development.
