Hanoi is setting up a list of investment projects, in which priority will be given to hi-tech projects, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has said.

The Hanoi’s mayor requested local agencies to address existing difficulties right from the beginning of next year.

In case there are Covid-19 infections in the community, local authorities are tasked to set up the lockdown zone with the scale depending on the number of cases, said Hanoi’s mayor Nguyen Duc Chung.

Hanoi would take this crisis as an opportunity to reshuffle economic activities and attract investment from multinationals, said a city leader.

Vietnam would gradually reallow entry of foreign nationals, especially those from countries having effectively contained the Covid-19 pandemic, including South Korea, said Hanoi's Party chief.

As Hanoi is now focusing on economic recovery, boosting domestic tourism would help speed up the process.

Accelerating public investment is one of Hanoi’s key economic solutions this year which would help the city to achieve its objectives, said Hanoi Party chief Vuong Dinh Hue.
