Chu dau ceramic – a member of BRG group continues the journey of preserving Vietnamese cultural quintessence

Chu Dau village is located in Thai Tan commune, Nam Sach District, Hai Duong city, about 80 km to Hanoi’s North East.

Chu Dau Ceramic is a high-class ancient ceramic of Vietnam representing the wet rice civilization since the 13th century and was honored as “Royal symbol product” at the end of 17th century.
Each product contains some meaningful messages as well as typical characteristics in style, color of glaze, and sophisticated patterns imbued with Vietnamese culture. Chu Dau Ceramic holds an important position in the history of Vietnamese handicrafts and has been an income earner for thousands of people for hundreds of years. The handicraft history is currently being preserved and promoted by Chu Dau Ceramic JS Company - a member of BRG Group.

Vietnamese historical records tell the story of 15th century business woman whose name is Bui Thi Hy, who run a successful ceramic enterprise. In 1980, the writings on a “Hoa Lam” ceramic vase displayed at Topkapi Sarayi Museum in Istanbul, Turkey corroborated her existence as well as the history of the once thriving Chu Dau ceramic village.
Nowadays, ancient Chu Dau Ceramic artifacts are being carefully preserved and displayed at 46 museums in 32 countries around the world, including Tokyo, Istanbul and New York. The “Hoa Lam” Chu Dau ceramic vase has also been among four Turkish national treasures. Chu Dau ceramic artifacts have been exported to about 30 countries and territories in the world.
After so many ups and downs of the history, realizing about the meaning and value of Chu Dau Ceramic, in 2001, Hanoi Trade JS Corporation (Hapro), a member company of BRG Group established Chu Dau Ceramic JS Company with the mission of restoring the Chu Dau ancient ceramic line which was lost more than 400 years ago. With talented hands and creative mind, the artisans of Chu Dau Ceramic JS Company have successfully revived Chu Dau ancient ceramic and created thousands of products, revitalizing and upgrading Chu Dau ceramic to meet the expectation of clients at home and abroad. Currently Chu Dau Ceramic products are widely used as gifts, household items, decorations and for, collections, among other purposes. Vietnamese government, organizations and enterprises are using Chu Dau ceramic items as gifts in important events.
With the uniqueness of the product and the efforts to revive and develop the premium Chu Dau Ceramic imbued with Vietnam culture, Chu Dau Ceramic JSC was honored to receive the award from General Vo Nguyen Giap which is  nine golden words "Chu Dau Ceramic – the Essence of Vietnamese  culture” and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc with 10 golden words "Chu Dau Ceramic - Vietnamese National idiosyncrasy, shining over 5 continents”.
In the development orientation, BRG Group will continuously promote the export of strong products of Hapro such as agricultural products, processed food and handicrafts, including Chu Dau ceramic items which represent the typical tradition and culture of Vietnam. Nowadays, Chu Dau Ceramic products have achieved important position in the domestic market. Following the success of the ancient business woman Bui Thi Hy, nowadays, under the direct and enthusiastic leadership of the modern business woman - President of BRG group and Hapro group - Nguyen Thi Nga, BRG Group will focus on developing and making Chu Dau Ceramic one of the national symbols through the production of Chu Dau items in their original style which are kept in museums in the world as well luxury gift sets imbued with Vietnamese culture, increasing the export to many countries around the world, contributing to the promotion of Vietnamese culture in international markets.

“Tỳ bà” vase: Having a shape like a musical instrument of Vietnam, symbolizing the land. The body of the vase is painted with patterns of four seasons: Spring - Summer - Fall - Winter, meaning the four seasons of peace.
