Colorful Hanoi’s street with mid-autumn toys and decorations

Young people are flocking to Hang Ma street in Hanoi's Old Quarter at weekends where mid-autumn decorations and toys are sold to take pictures in the days in the lead-up to the festival.  

Hang Ma street turns red with many toys and decorations as the mid-autumn festival or Tet Trung Thu approaches. Hundreds of young people come here to take photos and for Facebook check-in.

In the past week, Hang Ma and nearby streets become bustling over the weekends.

In Hang Ma street, shops sell star and paper lanterns, cardboard masks and drums, the traditional toys on this occasion.

Many young people and families with young children come here to enjoy the atmosphere, buy colorful decorations and toys, ad take photos.

Both modern and traditional toys are sold, such as paper masks and lion heads.

Due to Covid-19, the number of visitors this year is fewer than in previous years, but the streets are still crowded.

Families with children take photos while shopping on the street.

Tet Trung Thu, or mid-autumn festival, comes only once a year and the shop owners on Hang Ma street don't miss this opportunity to increase sales.

Those streets are often crowded at night and open until the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar.
