EVNHANOI to maintain power supply during super typhoon

The storm has caused power outages in some areas of Hanoi as large trees have fallen onto electrical lines.

The Hanoi Power Corporation (EVNHANOI) has announced that it will continue to provide power despite super typhoon Yagi or Storm No. 3 and is taking proactive measures to manage the storm and ensure preparedness for any circumstances.

EVNHANOI officials have reported that the storm has already led to power outages in parts of Hanoi due to large trees falling on electrical lines.

To address the storm's impact, EVNHANOI is implementing strategies to protect public safety and ensure the stability of the power grid. The company is actively monitoring the situation and working to restore power as swiftly as possible to provide a continuous and reliable electricity supply throughout the capital. Additionally, over 3,000 staff members are ready to tackle any issues as they arise.

"Currently, the power grid control center has expanded its workforce fourfold, and the customer service center has boosted its staff threefold to oversee and address issues. This increase in staffing aims to ensure that power can be restored to residents as swiftly as possible if any problems with the electricity grid arise during the storm," said a representative from the company.

The company advises residents to avoid dangerous areas such as power lines and electrical stations during storms, heavy rain, and flooding. They should be cautious of hazards such as falling trees, damaged power lines, or water entering electrical facilities, which can cause fires, explosions, or electric shocks.

Residents should disconnect their home’s power supply if flooding is imminent and avoid handling electrical devices or walking barefoot on damp floors. Properties and construction sites near electrical facilities must ensure they do not interfere with safety zones, including access roads, drainage systems, ventilation, and both underground and overhead power lines.

For any power-related problems caused by the storm, customers should contact the Customer Service Center at 19001288 (available 24/7) for timely assistance to reduce risks to safety and property.
