Famous Spanish pianist to perform in Hanoi

Spanish pianist Pablo Galdo and Vietnamese artists will bring to the local audiences a connecting-culture music night in Hanoi later this month.

The friendship concert entitled “Melodies of Spain”, which features various pieces of classic music for piano and guitar, will take place at 8pm on September 30 at the Grand Hall, Vietnam National Academy, No 77 Hao Nam Street, Hanoi.

The concert will be held by Spanish Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnam National Academy to mark the 45th year of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the 80th anniversary of Spain’s National Day (October 20, 1942 - October 12, 2022).

Spanish pianist Pablo Galdo, Vietnamese pianist Tran Tam Ngoc, guitarist Vu Dung Hien, and artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music will join the concert.

The program features Suite Espanola No.1, Opt.47 by Isaac Albeniz, Caprichio Arabe by Francisco Tarrega, Beo dat may troi (drifting duckweed and cloud), among others.

Pablo Galdo (from Spain) and Tran Thi Tam Ngoc (from Vietnam) will jointly perform the renowned Spanish musical piece Ma mère l'Oye, by Maurice Ravel, considered the epitome of the close cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Pablo Galdo (1978) is one of his generation's most renowned Spanish pianists. Some of the world’s greatest pianists and masters have highlighted his talent and musicianship unanimously.

The pianist has performed in more than 40 countries worldwide and represented Spain in many culture-linked performances. Galdo is the artistic director of the Galician Classical Music Association, Spain. He is also the founder, creative director, and jury member of the international piano competition “City of Vigo,” He was recently awarded the “Gregorio Baudot prize” for his artistic career and the silver medal at the Global music awards.
