Hanoi foreign affairs: Empowering the country's development

During the past 5 years, in the context of the complicated national and international situation, Hanoi foreign affairs has improved significantly, promoting the country and the capital’s development, under the interest and guidance of the Municipal party committee and Hanoi People’s Committee.

The Hanoi foreign affairs has contributed to promoting capital economic development, the average gross domestic product increased by 9.2% from 2011 to 2015, export by 15% per year. In 2014, Hanoi attracted 2.950 FDI projects with total registered capital of 25.7 billion USD from 80 countries and regions with income per capita reaching nearly 4.000USD.
So far, Hanoi has had friendly relations with nearly 100 capital, large city in the world, economic and trade relations with 187 countries and territories. In particular, people's foreign affairs activities are more innovative, efficient.
Hanoi, as the capital, where the majority events of foreign affairs of the state, the Party and the city government are held. So, foreign affair is primary concern and considered as a key task to contribute to maintaining an environment of peace, stability, that not only help facilitating investment and developing Hanoi economy rapidly and sustainably but also promoting the image, enhancing reputation of Vietnam in the international scale, Chairman of the  People's Committee Nguyen The Thao affirmed.
The city has developed action plans of deployment of foreign affairs in the period 2016 - 2020 that requires all levels should actively promote the international integration, Chairman of the People's Committee Nguyen The Thao emphasized the task ahead.
Mr Nguyen The Thao also felicitated 16 collectives due to outstanding achievements in foreign affairs from 2011 – 2015, included Economy & Urban Newspaper.
