Hanoi inspects fire prevention compliance
Hanoi has launched a citywide inspection to ensure compliance with occupational safety and fire prevention regulations.
Deputy Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha has approved the plan, which will see two inter-agency inspection teams set up to assess safety standards at companies and construction sites in 2025.

The inspection will target 30 businesses and construction projects across the city and will examine compliance with legal requirements for workplace safety, hygiene and fire prevention. The audit period is from January 2024 to the date of the inspection, with each site subject to a one-day evaluation.
Inspection teams are tasked with assessing compliance, identifying violations, and recommending administrative sanctions. They will also suggest changes or repeal of local policies that are found to be inconsistent with national regulations. The teams are disbanded when their tasks are completed.
Companies and construction sites selected for inspection must submit written reports and provide all required documentation. They are also responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information provided and may suggest policy adjustments if necessary.
The Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will oversee the process, drafting inspection guidelines, scheduling visits, and notifying relevant enterprises. The department will compile findings and report to the city government to ensure that workplace safety and fire prevention measures continue to be strictly enforced.
