In THE WUR 2022 by Subject ranking, the Basic Science field this year has graded 1227 higher education institutions, an increase of 78 compared to the previous ranking period.

THE World University Ranking by Subject is a classification of universities by industry and group of training disciplines in 11 fields. The subjects used to create this ranking include mathematics and statistics; physics and astronomy; chemistry; and geology, environmental, earth and marine sciences.

Earlier, the VNU Hanoi had three subjects named in the Quacquarelli Symonds WUR by Subject, including Mathematics in the 401-450th group; Physics and Astronomy in the 551-600th; and Computer Science and Information systems in the top 501-550.

THE has been providing trusted performance data on universities for students and their families, university academics, university leaders, governments and industry, since 2004. It is one of the world's most reputable and influential independent education rankings, alongside that of QS and Shanghai Jiaotong University (China).

THE rates universities around the world based on the core mission of a university and uses standard metrics to enable comprehensive and fair comparisons.
