Hanoi urged to strengthen the prevention of Covid-19 outbreak

Hanoi is asked to tighten the Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control during the biggest festival of the year.

Hanoi City People's Committee Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh has urged local departments and People's Committees of districts and towns in the city to strengthen Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control in the period before, during and after the lunar New Year of the Buffalo 2021.

The Chairman wants relevant agencies to heighten responsibility in implementing pandemic prevention and control measures and act resolutely to prevent the pandemic from spreading in the community.

Anh requires units and localities to continue to enhance communication so that people could be aware of and understand clearly about the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, regularly update information of the disease on the mass media to help citizens get used  to living safely with the COVID-19 pandemic in ‘new normal’.

"People who have been present in pandemic areas or have been in direct contact with suspected cases or Covid-19 patients need to undergo home isolation and expeditiously take test for the virus. People from all walk of life are responsible to cooperate with relevant authorities in implementing pandemic prevention and control," he said.

The Ministry of Health’s 5K message of Khau trang (facemask)- (Khu khuan) disinfection- Khoang cach (distance)- Khong tu tap (no gathering) – Khai bao y te (health declaration) needs to be extensively delivered among people; at the same time, mass gatherings or festivals are also restricted.

Relevant units also need to well manage quarantine facilities and people; strictly use protective equipment to ensure safety for employees in isolation services, avoiding disease transmission or cross contamination.

Enterprises, production and business establishments urge employers to stay put during Tet, refrain from travelling during the Lunar New Year holiday in a bid to help prevent the spread of the pandemic.

Violating cases of pandemic prevention and control will be punished  

 

Also, according to the order, Hanoi People's Committee has assigned specific tasks to each relevant industry, among them:

Department of Health needs to strengthen human resources, equipment and materials for pandemic prevention and control; and well implement the emergency and treatment of patients and minimize death due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The cases that violate the rules of disease prevention and control or allow the Covid-19 pandemic spreading such as disobeying the order of Covid-19 medical report or making untruthful medical declaration; not wearing masks while traveling on roads, among other infractions will be strictly punished.

Local authorities also need to continue to take measures to ensure social welfare for the people, especially the policy beneficiaries, the poor, and the vulnerable in case of more Covid-19 outbreak occurs.
