On November 21 afternoon, the AEP said that Hanoi’s air quality index (AQI) measured at 10 monitoring stations in the city was in the range of from 98 to 160.

Compared to air quality a day earlier, Hanoi’s AQI increased considerably and was mostly at the bad level, with the highest readings recorded at Hang Dau (160) and Minh Khai (156).

Other areas had AQI below 140 such as Thanh Cong, Hoan Kiem, My Dinh, Tay Mo, Tan Mai. Only Kim Lien’s AQI was at the average level of 98, the lowest reading today.

In recent days, the capital city’s AQI has worsened. Yesterday, only one location was at the bad level, but today's air quality in seven locations saw bad indexes.

Besides, sensitive groups including children, the elderly and people with respiratory diseases should limit their time outdoors.

When travelling on roads, people need to strictly follow traffic laws to reduce traffic congestion. The Hanoi police should strengthen traffic regulation in some areas with high traffic density such as Pham Van Dong, Hang Dau, Minh Khai, among others.
