Hanoi’s streets become even more deserted than Tet holidays after the city government ordered non-essential businesses to shut until April 15.

Hoan Kiem lake area, the heart of the city, is desolate as Hanoians comply with the government instruction of not leaving home out of necessity, given the complicated pandemic situation in Hanoi with high risk of contagion.
Nha Tho street in Hoan Kiem district, a favorite get-together place of young people, is empty.
Many hotels and luxurious silk boutiques in Hang Gai street, Hoan Kiem district are closed until April 15.
Desolate Dinh Liet street, Hoan Kiem district is no longer a bustling food street.
