According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in 2017, the global innovation index (GII) of Vietnam has increased 12 places to the 47th rank, thanks to the significant contribution from IT sector. Moreover, the index of e-government announced on July has also increased 10 places. However, there remains concern over Vietnam being in the top three sources of world spam, as well as the rising situation of malware attacking government and enterprises’ computer systems.

With this being said, in order to join the wave of industrial revolution 4.0, Vietnam has to encourage a better connection and information sharing between the government and enterprises. In the third industrial revolution, Vietnam focused on digital technologies and received positive results, thus, with the current revolution, IT infrastructure should be invested more, the Deputy Prime minister said.

With regard to human resources in IT sector, the Deputy Prime Minister has expressed his delight when Ministry of Training & Education, as well as Ministry of Information & Communications had issued policies to enhance the qualification of human resources in IT sector, the most important factor in the industrial revolution 4.0. However, in order for the human resources to match the current demand, it is necessary to have the participartion from IT enterprise community.

In the next 20 years, with the objective of increase the minimum wage by 7% and GDP of 7.5-8% per year, solution for this  entirely lies on human resources in new fields, for which to create new breakthroughs – the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
