NA Standing Committee prepares to convene 35th session

It is scheduled that on the morning of February 25, the 35th session of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly will be officially opened in Hanoi.

During the three-day sitting, which comes freshly after the nine-day-long Tet holidays, the legislators will devote a lot of time tackling differing views on the law on the election of deputies to the National Assembly and the People’s Council; the law on natural resources, maritime environment and islands; and the revised law on state budget, among others.

They will also look into a plan to allocate Government bond-sourced standby capital in the 2011-2015 period. At its 34th session, the Standing Committee spent time examining preparations for the upcoming 132nd General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-132), which is scheduled for March in Hanoi. IPU-132 is expected to greet delegates from more than 160 countries around the world.

The 35th session will be closed on February 27.
