Entitled “Fly over Tien Sa”, a paragliding race, which will take place in Da Nang city from June 22 to 24.

Nearly 100 paragliders from around the world will join the championship.
The event is held jointly by the Da Nang city People’s Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Da Nang Paragliding Club. It is among a series of artistic, cultural and sporting activities in response to the city’s Summer Rendezvous programme, which is hosted annually by the city authorities in order to promote Da Nang tourism.
As scheduled, pilots will take off from Ban Co peak on Son Tra peninsula, which is located at 600 metres above sea level, and land on Man Thai beach. Particularly, from June 21 to 24, members of the Vietwings Hanoi Paragliding Club will provide a double glider service to offer visitors at the festival an opportunity to admire the panoramic views of Da Nang city from above.
Paragliding is a recreational and competitive sport that first took off in the country over 10 years ago. Da Nang city hosts an annual paragliding event to attract tourists during the summer holidays. In 2012, the coastal city hosted the International Paramotor Race, which drew thousands of spectators.
In 2017, more than 100 paragliders from around the world joined the “Fly over Tien Sa” event, which was held between June 23 and 25. The contest drew pilots from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City as well as from Australia, South Africa, South Korea, the U.K. and the US.
