Politburo member Vuong Dinh Hue reelected Hanoi Party chief

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue has been holding the post of Secretary of the Hanoi People’s Committee since February 2020.

Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, a member of the Politburo – the highest decision-making body in Vietnam, has been reelected Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Mr. Hue won the voting with the endorsement of all (71) members of the municipal Party Committee of the upcoming five-year term, Kinh te & Do thi reported.

Other four deputy secretaries are Mr. Chu Ngoc Anh – Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen – Head of the Hanoi Mass Mobilization Committee, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan – Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Council, and Mr. Nguyen Van Phong – Head of the Hanoi Communications and Education Committee.

Mr. Hue, 63, was born in Nghi Loc, Nghe An province. He holds a Ph.D in Economics.

After holding different posts at the Hanoi-based Academy of Finance during 22 years, he was promoted to Deputy General Auditor of the State Audit of Vietnam (SAV) in 2001 and to the highest post of SAV five years later.

He then was Minister of Finance in August 2011 before being appointed to Head of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Economic Commission in December 2012. He was assigned to Deputy Prime Minister in April 2016, in charge of economic issues.

Since February this year, he has been holding the post of Secretary of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
