Recruitment demand of Hanoi tourism and services surges in Q2/2022
The recruitment activities of Hanoi’s enterprises at the moment are very exciting with demand continually rising.
Hanoi’s tourism, services, manufacturing, construction, and banking industries are forecast to have great recruitment demand in the second quarter of this year.

According to the Hanoi Center for Employment Services under the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, many local units and businesses need an additional 100,000 workers this quarter.
After Vietnam switched its anti-pandemic strategy from zero-Covid to safely and flexibly adapting to the pandemic situation, the labor market in the capital has improved. Since Hanoi allowed the reopening of almost all services, tourism, and catering, accommodation and entertainment businesses started taking orders again leading to surging hiring demand, according to Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Services.
He predicted these industries tend to recruit a large number of workers shortly, as does the group of manufacturing enterprises.
From the beginning of the year, this center has regularly organized job matching sessions for job seekers and employers, especially in northern localities of Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, and Hung Yen, which is home to many industrial parks and export processing zones.
Assessing that this is a golden time for hiring for both businesses and employees, Thanh added the demand for labor varies among localities and businesses.
“According to our observations, localities with many industrial parks and export processing zones such as Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, and Vinh Phuc at this time are in great demand for workers,” Thanh underlined.

However, the job market will see a shortage of more than 50,000 employees in the above areas.
Facing an increase in recruitment demand, Nguyen Hong Dan, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said, the department will coordinate with relevant units in the city to survey the needs of the job seekers and employers and organize job-matching events.
Dan also said, at the beginning of this year, the City People's Committee issued a plan to support and develop the labor market, to find jobs for 160,000 people in 2022.
In the context that the Covid-19 pandemic is still complicated, the city will further strengthen the application of information technology in job matching through online recruitment sessions between employers and job seekers in Hanoi and neighboring provinces.
“This year, we planned to organize about 15 mobile job sessions and other four thematic ones. The mobile job session will focus mainly on areas with a large number of businesses and industrial parks that need a large workforce,” he added. “There will have thematic sessions for youth, people with disabilities, and demobilized soldiers, as well as part-time sessions at the end of the year.”
Last year, Hanoi helped 179,600 people find jobs, meeting 112.2% of the yearly target. As of February this year, more than 10,500 laborers got their jobs with the assistance of the city.
