Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was among the crowds who came to enjoy the weekend in the pedestrian area of Hoan Kiem Lake.
Dressed casually, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sampled Hanoi's cuisine and took a stroll along the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake on the evening of August 27, right after his arrival.
Walking from Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square to Ngoc Son Temple, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong sometimes stopped to take pictures of the capital's street life. Crowded restaurants, Ba Kieu Temple, Ngoc Son Temple, scenes and entertainment activities of the people were snapped by the Prime Minister of Singapore with his cell phone.
Many people recognized the Prime Minister and shouted his name, and he waved back.
From Dinh Tien Hoang Street, PM Lee stopped for a long time at The Huc Bridge with its brilliant lights at night.
Visiting and offering incense at Ngoc Son Temple - the Special National Relics dating back to the 19th century, PM Lee Hsien Loong and Singaporean officials heard an introduction about the temple and the legend of Hoan Kiem Lake.
Considered the "heart of the capital" and home to several cultural treasures dating back to the Thang Long-Hanoi civilization, the Hoan Kiem Lake area has recently become one of the places foreign leaders visiting Hanoi typically include in their itineraries.
Earlier, as soon as he arrived in Hanoi, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong posted a picture of Tran Quoc Pagoda on his personal Facebook page with greetings: "Hello from Hanoi! I came to Vietnam to visit officially at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.”
The Prime Minister of Singapore expressed his pleasure to visit Vietnam on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 10th anniversary of establishing the strategic partnership. He said that besides diplomatic relations, Singaporeans and Vietnamese share many common interests, such as the love of delicious food.
This visit is his fifth to Vietnam as Prime Minister, demonstrating the bond between Singapore and Vietnam. It is also part of a series of events organized by the two sides to commemorate the above events, following the visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Singapore in February 2023.
