Hanoi aims to address issues related to planning and investment to improve public transport systems, develop urban railways, and shape sustainable urban environments.
Planning for public transport-oriented development stands is a key solution to ignite the city’s breakthrough in socio-economic development.
The public passenger transport system is becoming increasingly popular as it is convenient, time-saving, and helps reduce the number of private vehicles on the road.
The goal is for Hanoi to speed up major infrastructure projects, including the Ring Road No.4 – Hanoi capital region and metro lines.
The project overruns 6% to VND34.8 trillion (US$1.48 billion).
Hanoi's authorities are requested to spend more time handling the remaining issues, especially, the safety of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway.
The line is designed to run through districts of Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung and Hoang Mai and span 8.8 kilometers, with 8.13 km going underground.
