Government support is needed for the local leather and footwear sectors to realize the export target of $20 billion in 2021.

Vietnam’s trade performance continues to stay positive with the trade turnover as of December 15 rising by 4.5% year-on-year, or US$22 billion to $515.27 billion.

Trade in ivory tusks and pangolin scales is illegal in Vietnam but the smuggling remains rampant due to high demand.

Hanoi affirms it will cooperate with the police in the investigations of Nhat Cuong Software which is accused of smuggling, tax fraud, and money laundering.
